What are Areas of Responsibility?

If Projects are short-term collections of tasks, Areas of Responsibility are more ongoing centers of attention. Rather than desired outcomes or deadlines, these have standards to be be maintained: the quality of work you need to do (Work), the amount of money you need to earn (Personal Finance), your preference for a tidy house (House).

Each of your active projects should correspond to an Area of Responsibility, but some tasks will fall in Areas but not be associated with a specific project. For example, you might need to get the oil changed for your car, which falls under your Car Area of Responsibility. Getting the oil changed isn't a whole project - it's just one task - but it still needs to get done.
