Learning the basic steps of the Hostwriting process will help you to get a sense of what exactly Hostwriting is. If we were to work together, we might go through a process like this:

  1. We establish a list of topic areas that you might want to write about. (List Your 5-10 Topics)
  2. I list questions about each topic for you, and order our list of areas and questions into a logical order. (List 5 Questions Per Topic)
  3. You answer those questions, rephrasing the question so that it is included in the answer. For example, if you were answering the question "What is Hostwriting?," you would begin with the prompt "Hostwriting is…" or another rephrasing structure. (Answer Questions One by One, Restate A Question)
  4. We then remove the questions. Because your answers rephrased the questions, what you've written already has transitions, and can serve as a first draft.

At this point in the course, you already have a number of topic areas, some ordered questions about those topics, and answers to your questions. That's enough to give this process a try. If you remove the questions from your list, does what you've written still make sense?

If so, great! If not, try it again - you'll have a better sense of what's needed now that you've tried it.

You might also consider trying this process with someone else - they will have different questions for you, or they might order them differently.
